Voluntary Centre Services receives national recognition

Voluntary Centre Services has received formal recognition for the work of its Volunteer Centre’s by being awarded Wave 4 Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations.

Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation (VCQA) measures a Volunteer Centre’s ability to deliver its services to a high standard and create a local environment in which volunteering can flourish.

The standard recognises Volunteer Centre’s achievements in matching people who want to volunteer with organisations who can use their help and advice, promoting volunteering, and helping local charities and other organisations to involve volunteers in their work.

Ben Barley, Chief Executive of Voluntary Centre Services said: “We are delighted to have achieved Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation and are proud that NCVO believes we’re providing a high-quality service. Now we can build on our good work in West Lincolnshire, helping people and community and voluntary organisations.

“Anyone interested in volunteering in West Lincolnshire (Lincoln City, North Kesteven & West Lindsey) is very welcome to contact us for advice. We are particularly keen to hear from people who would like to volunteer but aren’t quite sure where to get started”.

Voluntary Centre Services operates three of over 200 Volunteer Centres across England and works in collaboration with Lincolnshire CVS, who also received the award for their Volunteer Centres in the South and East of Lincolnshire.
