Lincolnshire Community Foundation still has funds available from the Comic Relief Small Grants Scheme for groups providing a service to people living in Lincolnshire (including North and North East Lincolnshire). The scheme is open to community groups, social enterprises, sports clubs etc that have a constitution and bank account, but who need a little help to deliver local services.
Grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 are available, and priority will be given to groups run by people directly affected by the issues they are dealing with. Ideally they should be small, locally-based groups or organisations in areas of need (rural or areas of recognised deprivation) that have a clear understanding of the needs of their community. The maximum award is £10,000, although the average grant is likely to be in the region of £3,000. Comic Relief funding should contribute to at least 30% of the project costs. 25% of the annual allocation needs to be spent on projects which increase access to sport and exercise.
What will we fund? Community sport activities, furniture projects, projects providing access to benefits advice, equipment, venue hire, community employment projects, project costs, volunteer training costs. We would welcome applications for a range of initiatives, from community sport activities, food banks and support for people suffering with dementia.
The next closing date for receipt of applications is 1st March 2015.
