D2N2 LEP VCSE engagement events – 2 opportunities to get involved

At the last meeting of the D2N2 Social Inclusion and Equalities Advisory Group it was agreed that there is now a pressing need to begin a conversation about how the VCSE can further contribute towards the delivery of D2N2 LEP objectives.  This request comes at a time when the LEP is beginning to reassess the Strategic Economic Plan for the D2N2 area but also as conventional match funding for programmes is looking uncertain.

There are 2 opportunities to begin this conversation on 13 July 2017:

1. Sector and Skills Strategic Conference – NTU Clifton Campus, 2-6pm

You are invited to the Sector and Skills Conference which will bring together a wide range of D2N2 stakeholders to share updates on programmes such as Skills Local and Employ Local; a chance to take stock of what provision is available for businesses through the Growth Hub; identify any gaps; take a look into the future; reflect on possible impact of Brexit and contribute your views to the D2N2 Strategic Economic Plan (SEP).

The main conference runs from 2-5pm and will be followed by an opportunity for VCSE colleagues to discuss where existing gaps in provision still lie and how the sector can better contribute towards the delivery of D2N2 programmes and objectives.

This event will be an excellent opportunity for networking with potential partners from other sectors, including business leads, universities and business support services.

You can book your place here by Friday 7 July.

2. D2N2 : VCSE update and planning workshop – Derby/Derbyshire venue tbc, 9.30am-11pm

For those unable to attend the afternoon conference, this workshop will summarise progress made by D2N2 LEP to date, provide an overview of the risks to future provision and begin a strategic conversation with the VCSE sector on how future strategy should be developed and how the VCSE sector can contribute.

You can book your place at this workshop here.
