Why is this important?

The Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service is paid for by local NHS Commissioners to provide free transport to and from hospital for people who have a medical need for it.

The commissioners are currently in a contract procurement process (to re-purchase the service) and they intend to enter into a new contract with a provider in July 2017.

The commissioners would like to involve you in the contract procurement process, so that your opinions can then be taken into account when the contract is written.

They would like to hear about your health care needs, how the service can support you to stay healthy or access the right healthcare service when you need it.

Ultimately what they need to understand is what an excellent service would feel like, in your view.

What will they do with what you tell them?

The commissioners will be the architects, working with a specification provided to them by the government (as the minimum provision for healthcare).  Your feedback will be used to ensure that the service they buy is something that works for you.

Who are the lead NHS Commissioners?

The team who want to talk to you are from NHS Lincolnshire West CCG and are part of the wider team responsible for re-designing the contract for the Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service.

Who else is involved?

The CCG are working with the current service provider, other NHS commissioners and healthcare providers in developing the contract.

Everyone is working together to provide the best service possible – for you.
