Do you need volunteers this summer?

National Citizen Service (NCS) is a government funded youth programme that helps 16-17 year olds develop valuable skills for work and life. The 4 week programme encourages participants to become more engaged and responsible citizens, with the last 2 weeks seeing them making a positive difference in their local community with a ‘Social Action Project’. This is being delivered locally by EBP.

Social action projects can range from physical projects such as redecorating community venues or enhancing outdoor public spaces, to awareness projects such as campaigns to raise support for important causes or developing petitions for local issues. All projects should leave a positive, lasting legacy in the community.

With 1200 young people waiting to make an impact in Lincolnshire this summer EBP can offer more communities than ever the chance to benefit. Supporting a social action project requires no financial input from yourselves. All EBP need is a venue the young people can use as a base whilst they complete the project.

Teams will consist of up to 15 young people (aged 16-17 years) and will be supervised and supported full time by DBS validated members of staff, so your involvement with the team can be as much or as little as you wish it to be.

The dates that teams will complete social action this summer are:

Cohort 1:       10th July
21th July

Cohort 2:       17th July – 28th July

Cohort 3:       24th July – 4th August

Cohort 4:
31st July 11th August

Cohort 5:       7th August – 18th August

Cohort 6:       14th August – 25th August

100’s of organisations have already benefited and continue to benefit from the amazing work that young people do and with further growth of the programme you can benefit too. If you have a project or venue that you feel may be suitable, please call 01522 574133 or email cheryl.barrows@the-ebp.co.uk by 01/05/17.
