Liz has worked as Project Support Officer in the Lincoln office since 2003, at first full time and now part-time. She has a natural flair for talking to people, especially people that may be lacking in confidence and self esteem. She supports the team of Volunteer Advisors , acts as an Advisor herself and also provides support for the Supported volunteering project in the Lincoln office. Liz enjoys finding people volunteer placements that best suit their personal requirements and seeing them grow and develop. She has wide experience of working with the organisations we support, especially on the telephone, providing support with developing volunteering opportunities and following up volunteers.
Liz first came in to the then ‘Lincoln Volunteer Bureau’ as part of a work placement scheme run through Action4Employment, but left that scheme after a few months to become a volunteer in the Bureau.
She decided that when her son started nursery and she had a few hours to herself she would use the time to her advantage and to brush up on her skills in an office environment.
Since being at VCS Lincoln, Liz has passed her driving test, married and had two more children, and suffered the loss of a parent. Her spare time is taken up with family and community in the area where she lives.
