Volunteer Advisor

After 42 years a Civil Servant with the Ministry of Defence on retirement I joined Voluntary Centre Services in Lincoln in March 2014. My role is to interview individuals who are looking for voluntary positions or indeed are looking for ideas as to what volunteering roles are available and referring those individuals to the organizations they select. I also provide ideas and information for the potential volunteer to research the positions themselves pointing them in the direction of various web sites and on-line applications so that once they have made a decision, they can complete the process themselves. I conduct monthly follow-ups either face to face, by email or on the telephone to see how the application is progressing and offer any help and advice should the individuals have any concerns. Part of my role also involves me inputting new vacancies onto a bespoke software system and contacting organizations directly to update and amend their vacancies to keep them current.

I also work closely with the Network team and will happily help produce CVs for the young people who are seeking the services of Network team with regard to apprenticeships, courses and employment.
