The next closing date to apply to the Thonock Trust is on 1 June 2015 and applications would be welcomed from small community group who need some money to assist with running costs, equipment or activities that benefit people living in in Gainsborough, Corringham, Blyton, Springthorpe and Lea.
We manage the scheme and funds have been awarded to local groups and schools, including Gainsborough Sea Scout, Lea Village Hall, Home-Start, Benjamin Adlard Primary School, Pass It On Scheme and Mercers Wood Academy.
We would also encourage individuals to apply for some help towards the cost of books, transport, coaching, uniform etc that will enable them to access work, training or educational opportunities, which wouldn’t usually be accessible to them.
The fund themes are:-
Education – Grants to community groups, schools or further education providers that want to encourage educational/cultural activities or personal development opportunities (extra curricular activities, outings and activities);
Older People – Support to improve health and wellbeing of older people (activities, dementia services, nutrition, exercise, transport);
Grants of up to £2,000 (although the average grant is likely to be £1,000) and individuals can apply for up to £200.
Sue Fortune, the Foundation’s Grants Manager, is happy to meet potential applicants to advise about form filling and provide general advice about this and other funds the Foundation manages. Please contact her on 01529 305825 if you have an idea for a project you think fits the criteria.
Sue Fortune, Grants Manager says:-
“The application process is very straight forward and I’m available to answer questions at every stage. If you have an idea that might benefit the community, why not give me a call for an informal chat.”
