Legally, the self-employed or an individual cannot apply for a criminal record check on themselves. Only organisations registered with the CRB can submit applications for criminal records checks.
As a registered body Urban Challenge can administer and process CRB applications for any person who is either employed or volunteering for a company in either the public, private or civil sector as long as that company has registered itself with one of our three VCS offices in Lincoln, Gainsborough or Sleaford.
To apply for a check you will need to complete a paper application form which you can obtain from a CRB advisor at your nearest VCS office. They can give you guidance on how to fill it in and also explain in more detail the processing of your application. At this stage the CRB advisor will also give you a list of identity documents that you will need to provide them with when you return with your completed form.
If you have any further questions please contact your local VCS office and ask for a CRB advisor.
